Three things that are settled

Only one electrician ever gets a homeowner's contact details. Every homeowner agrees to be contacted by one local electrician before their job is shown to anyone. And we don't do electrical work, so we'll never be quoting against you.

Questions

Straight answers.

Does anyone else see the same job?

Other checked electricians who cover the area can see the job, the first name and the suburb until someone takes it. The first to take it gets the contact details, and nobody else ever does.

How much does each job cost me?

Your price is set out in writing in your agreement, before you take any job. We're also weighing up an exclusive-area option, and pricing explains how the two would differ.

How do you decide which jobs I see?

Your postcodes, and the kinds of job you've shown us evidence for. Being nearby isn't enough on its own: a switchboard job only reaches you if switchboards are on your list.

What happens to jobs nobody takes?

After two days untaken, a job can be shown to electricians elsewhere in the same region. If you'll travel for your kind of work, that's extra work you can pick up.

What licence do I need?

Registration with the Electrical Workers Registration Board (EWRB) and a current practising licence, renewed every 2 years, in a class that covers the work. We check both on the public register before you see any job.

Do I need my own insurance and NZBN?

Yes. We need a current public liability insurance certificate and an active NZBN.

How quickly do I need to contact the homeowner?

Aim for within the hour. That's the contact time in your agreement.

What if the number's fake or the job isn't electrical?

Tell us. What happens next is set out in writing in your agreement, before you take any job.

Is there a contract that locks me in?

The term, and how you'd pause or leave, are set out in writing in your agreement before you take any job. Read it before you sign.

Who issues the certificates?

You do. Every job gets an ESC, general and high-risk work also need a CoC, and for high-risk work you arrange a licensed electrical inspector for the Record of Inspection. Certificates are due within the EWRB's time limit, and you keep the records for 7 years.

Do reviews I already have count?

Yes, as evidence of the jobs you do when you apply, as long as they describe the work. Reviews from any site can help.

Do you do any electrical work?

No. We're a referral service: we don't quote, visit or do electrical work, so we're never competing with you.
